What is SOCIALNEET?

What is SOCIALNEET?

SOCIALNEET is a holistic and integrated policy recommendation for combating youth unemployment through the development of social entrepreneurship.

It is holistic because this is the way sectors of this kind (do not forget that we are talking for the third sector besides private & public) develop.
Think for example. Is a new building in a degraded area considered land development?
Can just one policy measure (e.g. lower taxation) boost the private sector of the economy?
Can we change a public bureaucratic sector to a productive one with just one reform?
The same applies to social economy and entrepreneurship.
We do not want to follow the standard information and training practice aiming in just acquiring new skills. We want to promote the organizational culture for strengthening and developing social entrepreneurship and through this process finding employment for NEETs.
In order to achieve this holistic approach SOCIALNEET tries to build alliances. Our strategic ally are civil society organizations. They have the social impact, they know and understand social needs, they implement social policies on the field.
We want to add entrepreneurship and a more business approach to the way they see things. We do not want to turn them to profitable businesses. We want their help in building social enterprises based on innovative social and business models
In the alliance we want to create we invite public sector, private sector as well individuals, active members of our societies, who are willing to work for a social cause. To make their neighbor, their town, their region, their country and the whole world a better place to live in.
Each activity in our project is linked to another, gets feedback from another and is open to be combined with other initiatives as well.
Our message is that if you want NEETs to have an employment opportunity to the third sector you should create an ecosystem for that.
Plant trees on a good soil, give them water, help them grow, create a forest and birds will come to build their nests
